Jen Klee

Jen Klee is delighted to be returning to the 2024 cast of Listento Your Mother. Prior storytelling experience includes monthlystory slams with Storytelling Arts of Indiana. Jen is the proudmama of two rambunctious boys and saints in the making, andthe wife of the best husband in the world (Danny). most days,she loves her role as a stay-at-home mom.

Ginger Claremohr

Ginger Claremohr is a national award-winning newspapercolumnist, motivational speaker, and mother of five. Brenda Johnson

Brenda is originally from the Chicago area and now considers Central Indiana home. She is a blogger, writer, and storyteller. For fun, she reviews restaurants as a member of the Yelp EliteSquad, volunteers for AARP, travels, and reads at least a book a month. She has a work-in-progress memoir and a blog called Older, Bolder & Better on Substack.

Delores Thornton

Delores, a licensed, ordained minister, is a member of several organizations, most notably the African American History Committee Advisory Board. She is also a certified Bereavemen tFacilitator with Brooke’s Place. She has received numerous awards as a Publisher, Author, Film Maker, and Literary Entrepreneur. Delores is passionate about sharing the history of and to her Mighty People.

Tuni Deignan

Antonia (Toni) Deignan’s memoir, Underwater Daughter – A Memoirof Survival and Healing, published by She Writes Press, launched in May 2023 and is a First Place Bookfest Award2023 winner, a Best Book award 2023 finalist in Nonfiction,and a finalist for the Chanticleer International Book Award. MBSR certified, she facilitates group meditations and writing circles.

Jia Apple & Missy Apple Knots

Jia Apple is a muralist, teacher, and published author. She hasbeen featured in multiple exhibitions across the US. She is dedicated to sharing the knowledge she has gleaned from an extraordinary life. Jia will soon release her second and third books, The Tell and Wiseheart.  Missy has written a memoir titled “The Apple Falls Far” about growing up with a schizoaffective disorder and an abusive father, She currently lives in Indianapolis with her husband and dog, and is a mother/stepmother to 5 adult children.

Samantha Powers

After 9 years as an educator, Samantha took a hiatus from teaching to be a stay-at-home mother to her daughter Joanna and two lovably chaotic dogs. She’s happily married to her college sweetheart, and she is currently working towards her master’s degree (Boiler up!). She works for Storytelling Arts of Indiana, as well as writes for Indianapolis Moms Blog. In her spare time, she enjoys thrifting, running, and napping.

Marcy Renken

Marcy Renken, a devoted mother of six, shares her journey as an Army veteran, mother, and wife. She founded Momwith Purpose, equipping and empowering working moms, and co-founder of the “Celebrate Marriage” ministry, promoting Christ-centered relationships. Marcy authored “Looking Up: Through the Eyes of Will,” a children’s book inspired by her son’s miraculous recovery from a severe traumatic brain injury. You can find her at Momwithpurpose.com.

Deb Gullery

Debby Gullery is a marriage and relationship coach, helping individuals and couples to live and love wholeheartedly. She has taught marriage and parenting seminars in the US and overseas for 25 years. She is the author of a book entitled Small Steps to Bigger Love, where she shares practical strategies for building great marriages. She is a Canadian transplant, married 42 years, with three children and two fabulous grandsons.

Ellen Bund

Ellen is one of three co-founders of Storytelling Arts of Indiana, currently serving as the Executive Director until her retirement on June 30, 2024. Her relationship with her mother was at its worst during 8th grade, but they both survived. Ellen believes that her most important work was caring for her mother, Midge during the last few years of her life.

Montez Day

Montez Day, 53, is a re-entry advocate and storyteller for Storytelling Arts of Indiana. He serves on the board of Constructing Our Future,  a nonprofit supporting women who are re-entering society from prison. Montez will debut at Listen to Your Mother, a new story highlighting the importance of motherly figures.

Lisa Brandenburg

Lisa Brandenburg is a native New Yorker living in Westfield, IN with her husband and kids since 2020. She is a devout Christian who credits God for group she created, which connects hundreds of women through events. Lisa would like to thank herfamily and God for their support.
